AVC Law Enforcement: 1st Semester Review

January 19, 2013

The first semester of the 2012/2013 academic year was great!  The students accomplished a lot of training in five short months. Here is a quick review:

We started the year by taking advantage of great weather by conducting felony stop training...

... continued with handcuffing and speed-cuffing training...

 .

... moved right along into recording, developing and identifying fingerprints...

...and finished strong with self defense and disarming techniques!

Somewhere in this very busy semester, we managed to view an autopsy, participated in "Criminal Justice Career Day" at Globe University in Middleton, WI, and covered 4 chapters in our text.  From time to time, we even had visitors from former students now working in the emergency services, law enforcement and military career fields.  2012 even saw our first AVC law Enforcement graduate, Nicholas Meeker, sworn in as a local police officer with the Mount Carroll Police Department!  WTG Nick !!!

The 2nd semester is shaping up to be just as busy.  Stop by and visit anytime!!
