This exhibit is meant to honor the Jo Daviess Carroll Area Vocational Center, its students, and highlight the past 40 years of exceptional career and technical education in our area.

Additional fun facts about Career & Technical Education:
We Go Here!
52% of Illinois high school students enroll in Career and Technical classes.
Increase Earning Potential
Students who take at least three CTE courses earn 18% or $212 more a month than comparable high school graduates after high school.
Keeps Students In School
81% of dropouts report that “more learning opportunities which make the classroom relevant to the real world would have helped them finish high school.”
Life Long Learning Starts Here
CTE is for the college bound student and the non-college bound student. In looking at 21st century jobs, 46% require on-the-job training, 28% require some college or technical training, and 26% require a bachelor’s degree. Many of the classes at the AVC offer certifications, college credit and, of course, on-the-job training.
