Students attend State HOSA Conference and Contest

Two young ladies from the Health Occupations Program at the Jo Daviess Carroll Area Vocational Center in Elizabeth, IL competed on March 16-18, 2011 at the State HOSA conference in Decatur, IL accompanied by their advisor, Mrs. Karen Koester. The ladies competed in the following events-Allison McLane-daughter of Don and Annette McLane of Elizabeth; Medical Terminology, Home Health Aide, Job Seeking Skills, Healthcare Issues and team event-Creative Problem Solving. Madeline Hongsermeier-daughter of Brent and Carrie Hongsermeier of Galena; Medical Terminology, Extemporaneous Writing, Healthcare Issues and team event-Creative Problem Solving.
Allison placed in the top ten in the Job Seeking Skills competition and is awaiting notification if she will be representing the State of Illinois at the National HOSA competition in Anaheim, CA.
