Jenna Long, a 2003 graduate of Warren High School and a student at the AVC between 2001-2003, is a Registered Nurse at Midwest Medical Center in Galena, Illinois. She currently floats between the Medical/Surgical floor and the Emergency Department. She provides care for patients that are acutely and/or critically ill. Jenna received her degree through Highland Community College in 2007. Jenna serves on the Jo Daviess Carroll Area Vocational Center Health Occupations Advisory Board
Jenna states “I’ve always wanted to work in the health care field, the AVC helped me acquire early education, skills, and knowledge needed to get my start. Obtaining my Certified Nurse Assistant certificate the 1st year of Health Occupations opened my world to caring for people and making a difference. This ultimately helped support my decision of wanting to become a nurse. Health Occupations II gave me the chance to shadow an actual clinical setting which opened my eyes to just how many opportunities there are in the healthcare field. The AVC was a great start to the path I have just begun.
Alumni Quote: “The friends and experiences I walked away with from the AVC will never be forgotten!”
