On September 10, auto tech and auto body students listened to the first of 7 guest speakers on furthering their education and careers in the auto repair fields. The first was Ron Billett from WYOTECH based in Wyoming. He spoke of the training program his school offers, career choices in the industry and costs involved. WYOTECH has been coming to the AVC for many years and is one of the largest tech schools in the country. Usually 2 or 3 AVC students a year decide to continue their education with them.
More tech schools will make presentations in the near future. Barron Institute is presenting on Sept 23rd, with UTI, Ohio Tech, Nashville NADC, Highland College and the military coming in the future. Students can then compare each schools features and location to decide which one is the best fit for them. Former AVC auto tech students have graduated from all of these schools to continue their chosen career path. Auto repair technicians are in high demand, these schools and programs are one of the best ways to succeed in the field. The auto tech class at the AVC is just the first step in a complete education for a career in auto repair.
