EMT Class Coming To AVC

EMT Basic Class

The EMT-B program teaches emergency medical technology to the beginning provider. The course work is designed to prepare the student for service on an ambulance or rescue squad. It provides emphasis on learning techniques to provide the best care for the emergency patient. Students will use techniques and skills learned as they complete their clinical hours.

Classes will be starting January 12, 2009 and running through April 30, 2009 at the Jo Daviess Carroll Area Vocational Center in the Health Occupations classroom. Class times are 8:45-10:30 or 12:15-2:30 Monday through Friday except on school holidays and breaks.

College Credit for this class available through Highland Community College. Students will be able to take the state exam to become EMT certified in Illinois.
