HOSA Students prepare for the Awards Banquet.

Jo Daviess Carroll AVC HOSA Students Headed for National Competition

Five students and their Advisor Mrs. Karen Koester from the Health Occupations Program at the Jo Daviess Carroll Area Vocational Center in Elizabeth, IL, competed on April 2-4, 2008, at the State HOSA conference in Decatur, IL, earning their way to attend the National Competition in Dallas,TX on June18-21, 2008. The Creative Solving Problem Team earned a third place medal and Ashlee Much placed second in Interviewing Skills.

Michelle and Melissa serve as delegates from the HOSA Chapter at the AVC.

The Team includes-Courtney Schultz-daughter of Marlo and Susan Schultz of Galena, Melissa Niemann-daughter of Delmar and Joyce Niemann of Stockton, Michelle Phillips-daughter of Gina Phillips of Thomson, & Emily Janicke-daughter of Matt and Kim Janicke of Nora. Ashlee Much is the daughter of Lea Riesselman of Thomson.
While at the national conference they will be interacting with approximately 3,600 Health

Courtney and Emily prepare for there job interviews.

 Occupation Students from around the nation as they compete in their selected contests. They will also have the opportunity to obtain valuable information through educational symposiums. The students will be working on raising funds to pay for their trips. They will be glad to accept any donations.
