AVC Project House Update

by Ken Francis

January 11, 2008

“Old Man Winter” doesn’t seem to scare the Construction Trades Class at the AVC, as work continues, despite the snow or cold.  The students keep the driveway clear so the bus can pull in and shovel a path to the door as well.  With limited heat so far, they continue to apply insulation to the walls and ceilings, so the house furnace, which is already installed and ready to go, can finally heat the entire house at one time.

Other than some minor electrical work and plumbing to be done, the inside should soon be ready for the drywall installation process, followed by ‘mudding’, sanding and then painting.  After that, the trim, inside doors, cabinets and flooring will go in.

It is anticipated that by spring, we will have another fine AVC project house to place on the market.
