Restaurant Management Students On Fire!

Restaurant Management students prepared and served the Annual Galena Territory, Scales Mound and Apple Canyon Lake Fire Departments' Christmas Dinner. Students entered a competition to see who had the best stuffing for pork chops, and the best dessert. Winners of the contest were Mike Olsen, River Ridge, with his Apricot/Cranberry stuffing, and Ashley Schindler, Stockton, with her Caramel Apple Cobbler. Tim Zito, of the Galena Territory Fire Department, who judged the competition, was very impressed by all the entries, and asked that the students present a taste of all items entered into the competition. Students began their preparation on Monday, and despite the ice storm, were ready to serve December 12. Attending the actual dinner and serving were Jessica Nava and Ashley Schindler of Stockton, and Mike Olsen and Ryan Diederich of River Ridge. The four students enjoyed speaking with the guests about their future plans for school and their careers in cooking. Guests were very pleased with the selections, and most impressed by the variety of desserts, and the excellent job the students accomplished.
