Landscape Design Winner at AVC
Nathan Bochniak, Galena wins 3rd place in ILCA contest

Nathan Bochniak, a CAD/GIS student at the Jo Daviess Carroll Area Vocational Center won third place in the Illinois Landscape Contractor's Association landscape design contest. The contest, open to high school and college students was divided into divisions for hand drawn high school, computer drawn high school, and college hand drawn and computer divisions. Nathan placed in the high school computer drawn division.
The contest was presented to students during the fall of 2006. Schools recieved a set of photographs of the design site, a plot plan for the site, and a family inventory detailing the familie's needs and desires for their landscape. The students were challanged to create a design that meet the requirements of the site and the family.
The awards were announced during a Horticulture skills contest held at Joliet Junior College March 9, 2007. Nathan was presented with a trophy as well as a plaque for the Area Vocational Center.
