Wybourn Excels At National SkillsUSA

Grace Wybourn, a Senior from Warren High School, attended the National SkillsUSA Leadership Conference and Competition in Kansas City, MO in June. Grace attended the AVC Graphic Arts program for two years.  

Grace participated in the Illinois SkillsUSA Leadership Job Skills Demonstration competition, earning a Gold Medal and the chance to attend Nationals.  She competed against 44 students from around the United States, and placed ninth. Grace also participated with 4000 students in a city wide community service project.


SkillsUSA is a national organization for high school and post-secondary students enrolled in trade, technical and skilled service profession instructional programs. National SkillsUSA Championships have grown from inception in 1967 from 54 competitors in three contests to more than 4700 competitors in 84 hands-on skill and leadership contests.  AVC students interested in participating in SkillsUSA can contact Mrs. Moon in Restaurant Management.
